Via Feretta Cornwall

2 rock climbers clamber across the rock face of an old quarry at Via Feretta Cornwall

The area around Mabe Parish is unique in Cornwall for its granite quarrying heritage. It’s also unique in being home to the only Via Ferratta or ‘Iron Stairway’ In the south of England.

Via Feretta Cornwall gives you the unique opportunity to get up close and personal  Cornwall’s granite quarrying heritage as you ascend cliff faces, cross high wire bridges, tackle high challenges and zip back down to ground level, seeing views last seen nearly 100 years ago by the local Cornish Quarrymen and enjoying the best of climbing, ropes courses and zip-lining all in one amazing journey across the mamouth 60-acre site. There’s different routes of varying scariness and skill meaning that adventuresome 8 year olds through to experienced thrill seekers are all catered for.

It’s not all about climbing and clambering at the site. Part of the route also takes participants across a 70m long high wire bridge and culminates with one Cornwall’s most scenic ziplines!

On site there’s also a great little cafe, the Cornish Barista, that overlooks the site of the action itself, The view really is something special and is the perfect setting to unwind and share war stories after your adventure. Of course its also the perfect spot to sit and watch others get stuck in if you don’t have a head for heights yourself!

Aside from the climbing, there’s also some lovely other provisions onsite, not least the great walking trails down to Argal Lake and also the great little adventure park and mud kitchen which is open to non paying guests as well. Finally you’ll be chuffed to learn that a percentage of your spend across the site goes to the affiliated BF Adventure charity that provides outdoor education that is designed to empower Cornwall’s vunerable young people.
